Christmas and New Years 2014 -- a little late :-)

This post is only 2 months late....

Christmas 2014 was very fun.  We spent just over a week up in the motherland, primarily at my brother's place -- staking claim to Kate's room the whole time.  Thanks Kate... ha.  It was so nice because Todd could be present this year, instead of participating via FaceTime.  We lounged a lot, caught up with with the Solti's, and my Dad while we were up too.

Christmas Eve -- putting the cookies and milk out for Santa.  She looks good, right?

And, here we are at the ER at 4am.  Someone was pretty excited about this, to be honest.  Maeve woke up at 1am crying out in pain complaining of her ear that carried on for an hour and a half.  She had a cough and cold, so I knew exactly what was going on -- and classically, this was her first ear infection.  Well, I would never consider taking her to an ER for an ear infection, but I knew she wouldn't be be able to see anyone for another 36 hours due to Chrismas, and I didn't want to risk ruining Christmas.  I tell you, when we were in the ER and Maeve couldn't have been happier or more cheery, I was muttering that there better darn well be a bulging ear drum!  Ha.  There was.

The happy patient... We got our amox and were back in bed at 6am.  I saw Santa streak the sky on the way down to the hospital, and Maeve was telling everyone who would listen, about my Santa sighting.  She raced back into bed to make sure she was sleeping when Santa came :-)  Her older cousins were rather confused the next morning when she wasn't bugging them to get up early, and instead we started our Christmas morning around 9am instead.

Getting ready to exchange presents...

This is what a 15 year old, who was giving One Direction tickets for Christmas from her parents, looks like.

Maeve had asked Santa for nail polish all the different colors of Princess dresses.  Let the manicures begin...

These two are definitely kindred spirits

and dramatic...

and crazy...

And all around, nutty.

Maeve, Kate, and Taryn playing Zingo.  A hit present this year.

Maeve is SO lucky to have cousins that adore her and spend quality time with her.  She thinks she's right on their level, actually.... talking like a teen, and swooning over all the One Direction members.  I think she literally fell over backwards at one point.  Ha.

Crafting and puzzling...

Our new Christmas puzzle kept us occupied...

... and occupied.

Lazy Bones Jones 1 & 2 (Sorry Taryn, but you know its true :-)  Ha.)

We met up with Cj, Pax and Beckett for part of a day and did some beach explorations..

Pax...

Beck...

And, Sassy thing...

Sometimes I can't believe how big she's getting...

Providing some festive music.  She and Kate spent lots of time on the piano together.. it was pretty sweet.

We came into the city and spent a night with Dad and Lynn..  off to the ice rink we headed.

Obviously a natural :-)

Maeve and Grandpa...

These two are pretty funny to watch play games..  there's a lot of trash talking going on.

We came home on New Years Eve... so Maeve got all dolled up...

We had a very low key celebration to ring in 2015 -- Lisa came over to join the fun.
