Welcome, Spring....

Some people dress down for tea parties and dress up for chalk and bubbles instead.  It turns out, those 'some people' are Maeve.  Ha.  We had one of Maeve's best friends from school over for a play date and the sun decided to shine, finally.  It was so refreshing to get outside to play, decorate, and run around...

She Made the Podium!

She wore her medal all day and told people she won a golden medal... Its an end of session achievement medal, but pretty much the same as an Olympic Gold, right?

These Boots are Made for Walking....

Tea Parties...

There are some that choose to dress up for their tea parties... and other's that do not.

Maeve and Clara are two peas in a pod and I love their little relationship.

Self Portrait...

OMG, I love this age.  I find things hilarious -- and this one doesn't disappoint.  Hanging on the wall of Maeve's class are their self portraits, with one stand out piece.  Yep, Maeve's.  It is colorful and with a few attention to the details -- especially the eye lashes.  And, I love that she's proud of it.  :-)

Gamer...

I am living with a gamer.  Maeve LOVES to play games - card games in particular.  We have spent many hours sitting on our window bench over the last month, just playing.  The games that we run through include, her favorite, Uno, plus Crazy 8's, Go Fish, Rat-a-Tat Cat, Spot It, LCR (which is challenging, but not impossible to play with two people), Slap Jack, Memory (She KILLS me on this one), Tenzi, and I have Rory's Story Cubes and Blink in new packages awaiting to be played for the first time.  I make it so that its fairly equal win/lose ratio, and she's overall a good sport about it... most of the time.  Ha.  The other day she pulled out the medal she has and made whoever won a particular game wear the medal for the duration of the next round.  Funny kid.

Handy?

I always love it when Maeve plays with tool toys.  I guess I hope that one day she will be handy and capable.

Everyone should be able to operate a drill.... Nicely done, Maeve

And, good thing to hone those hammering skill....

...but, we may have to work on the execution of this one...  I guess maybe I should put the camera down and warn her this is a good way to lose an eye.
