A Trip to the Motherland...

My oldest niece, Taryn turned 15 today.  I can't believe it.  I obviously remember the day she was born, and it really doesn't seem like it could be that long ago... but, alas, time is ticking away.  We decided we would head north to celebrate Taryn and catch up with friends too.  It was a quick trip, but we packed it full.  The birthday dinner was awesome, as it was much like a redo of Christmas... and because it was a full-on turkey feast again, several other family members invited themselves over too.  Ha.  It was fun.

I figure a big family gathering with turkey involved should happen quarterly...

The birthday girl!

Even Wonder Woman made an appearance at the party...

A true Canadian doesn't use an ice scraper to remove the snow from the windshield, its way more effective to pull out your curling broom.  So, we decided to help my Dad along by yelling, 'Hard!!!!  Sweep!!!!!'

And, when you're in Canada, you don't mess around.  There is no DVR'ing a live gold medal hockey game.  Oh no.  Instead you plow across town to get to your friend's house before the 4am face-off and enjoy it with fellow like-minded Canadians.  Gooooooo Canada!

Beckett decided to celebrate Canada's win by waving his flag at the front door this morning...
