Playgrounds and Starbucks...

We are so grateful for our friends and what good buddies the girls are...

Happy St. Patty's Day...

The leprechauns visited us in the middle of the night and turned our milk green...

Maeve had a play date with Ryan (I had a play date with Jeff and Carin.. ha).  They are so darn cute with each other... smitten really.  Our plan of arranged marriage seems to be full steam ahead.  They were both thrilled with green milk.  I mean, who wouldn't be??

Family Weekend...

Maeve and I headed over to Whidbey Island for the weekend for a little down time.  With being sick last week, and our general fast paced life, I felt like we needed to regroup.  There has been some challenging behavior that I was hoping to turn around with some more purposeful one:one time.  Turns out, its just 3 year old behavior...  ha.  I have my eye on the prize... 4 is coming up in a couple of months and I have grand hopes and dreams that all things will be perfect again.  :-)

While we were on Whidbey we visited with Sarah, Lila, and Emma...  Sarah is the rock star plugging away at caring for a 2 year old and 6 month old while her husband, James, is in the middle of a six month deployment... It was really nice to see them and spend the afternoon playing.

Maeve practicing her name with chalk art... Lila beautifying the driveway...

Who doesn't love a pinwheel?

right?

Back at the cabin for some rejuvenating... Ahhhh...  Thank you Annie and Dan for always being so willing to share your cabin with us.

A little bike riding on the deck... don't worry, she didn't plummet down the side of the cliff.

Beach time for some rock throwing... it was stormy though, so we didn't last that long.

My favorite part of the weekend... games by the fire.

And, a little swing action... Although, Maeve didn't enjoy the instability aspect -- it made her use her stomach muscles.  I can appreciate how that doesn't feel very good.  ha ha.

Skilz...

The girl has mastered buttons and zippers...

Sicky...

And, unlucky.  Maeve got hit with two different bouts of the stomach flu in two weeks.  The first one was very short lived, but this week it worked into a 48 hour bug.  Maeve had her first experience with marathon movie days laying down on the couch... and I think she is a fan.  She keeps trying to tell me that she's sick again, just so that she can watch a movie...  Thankfully, we are all better again.  Good thing - my sick time is taking a hit these days ;-)

Fluent...

This is a funny story I didn't want to forget...  and I just added a cute picture of my ballerina that has nothing to do with the story.

Maeve and I are fluent in our made up language.  We tell jokes, we count, we address very serious matters, all in a made up language.  This sends Maeve into hysterics... she thinks it is so funny.  Well, one day on the ski lift we were sharing our chair with another fellow skier.  During our trip up the mountain his cell phone rang and he answered it.  He started speaking a foreign language on the phone.  Maeve's head whipped straight around and then she started grinning at me, almost busting out of her seat...  I guess she thought he was speaking his made up language and then proceeded to talk to me in our made up language.  Hilarious.  Thankfully the nice man was all wrapped up in his conversation and  had no idea what was happening right next to him....

A Fisher Visit...

We had a Fisher weekend, minus Lance.  So fun.  CJ and I found ourselves drinking wine, eating chocolate covered potato chips from Trader Joes (yum) and watching JT on SNL at night, and we had loads of outdoor fun with the kids during the day....

 Beckett, Pax, and Maeve crafting...

Friend love...

Checking out the sea lions on the pier...

Playground fun mixed with a little lounging...

I think swings are still her favorite part of a playground...

Pax and CJ...

Beckett is so cute...

I think she was roaring... or perhaps yelling.  Not sure.  What I am sure of is that she is not a quiet child and she is very uninhibited and speaks her mind freely.  As my friend mentioned, at least she'll never have an ulcer... ha.

Beach time...

Digging a hole...

CJ loving...

Stealing my own snuggles...

And then we headed to the zoo today...

This was my favorite visit today... it was quite a bit colder today than the previous two and I liked the heat.  Oh, and the river otters were pretty cute too.

Looking Fierce...

Is she watching 'America's Next Top Model' without my knowledge?

Breakfast Silliness...

 Yogurt lipstick...

Sweet Girl....

Sassy Girl...  Have I mentioned that I catch her practicing her various smirks, smiles, frowns, and cries in the mirror...  ha.

Free Hair...

I do love free hair days.... that is, up until its detangle day :-)

Coeur D'Alene...

So, we decided to road trip east this time -- over to Idaho.  My old friend, Steph left me for marriage about 9 years ago and ventured to Alaska before settling down in Coeur D'Alene.  The nerve.  Ha.  So, it had been forever, and since I didn't even realize that she had a fourth child until I saw their Christmas card, I figured it was time for a catch up trip.  And, clearly we were traveling to them...  Four kids between the ages of 7 years and 9 months.  Did I mention Steph is homeschooling them?  Wowza... I shall never complain of being busy.  There is no way this could be my life... ha ha.

Off and running.  The first thing Maeve wanted to do was wear Abbey's fancy dress and then put on her jacket for playing outside.  Steph and Craig make their kids small.  Abbey just turned 3 but is significantly smaller than Maeve...  so the clothing choices looked awesome.

Bonding over Angelina Ballerina...

Checking out Lake Couer D'Alene...

Steph so kindly purchased the "Mudgy Moose" book for Maeve, so we had to wander the town to try and find him.  Here she is showing Caleb Mudgy...

It is quite difficult to get a regular smile out of Maeve these days... she likes to practice silly faces...  Sadly, I get this same eye roll when things aren't going her way.  Yes, I'm trying to nip that.

Or... I get a posed photo...

Or, I get something like this...  but, Steph looks good.  :-)

We headed up to Steph's parent's cabin for some adventure.  In days past we would just sit out on their deck and look at the beautiful view with a refreshing drink in hand.  Things have changed since then... ha.  The kids went 4 wheeling.  I went snowmobiling...  all good fun.

The crew (minus Craig, the photographer)...

Our family photo...

Steph and Craig's family photo...

Eli... ever the gentleman -- holding Maeve's hand on our walk.

It was a great trip and certainly lots of fun.  These kind of trips are always fun for reminiscing...  My, how our lives have changed... :-)
