Someone is 4!

And the birthday celebrations just kept coming.  Maeve enjoyed a weekend packed full of fun and sugar.  We headed north for most of the weekend, and Maeve was able to spend one extra night there with family because I had to work on Monday... and Gran so graciously brought her back for me.  Its so nice to have such willing friends and family.... We are lucky.

On Thursday I was able to steal away from work for a quick 'birthday circle' at Maeve's school.  They have a birthday ritual, which concludes with popsicles... a big hit.

Maeve was thrilled to be the special birthday girl at school that day...

On Friday it was Maeve's actual birthday, so we started off the day at dance class.  Very appropriate activity for a special day because she loves to dance....

And then we met Dan, Annie, and Abe for breakfast... and they brought her a cupcake also.  They are speaking Maeve's love language here... ha.

Well, the Skagit River bridge collapsed on Thursday night, so we had to take an alternate route to head north for our Canadian celebrations... it was the perfect excuse to check out Chuckanut Drive on a beautiful Friday morning.  So, we had to stop for pictures of course....

Maeve wants to let everyone know that she's "4" now...

There were a couple of friendly German travelers snapping shots too that offered to take our picture.  Why not?

Annie and Dan gave Maeve a couple of new bathing suits as part of their birthday present, so she wanted to change into one of them on our pit stop.  Why not.  Funny Maeve.

Auntie Stacy needed help watering her garden....  Good thing she was dressed appropriately.

Later that evening, Maeve got the hose and doused Auntie Stacy... Maeve somehow knew that Auntie Stacy is the only one she could get away with doing that too... ha

Uncle Todd (or Uncle Bonkie) and Maeve headed off to the produce store... I love it.  Birthday hat and bathing suit.  What more do you need?

Grandma and Grandpa came over for dinner to celebrate a little someone...

Trampoline fun...

Kaya, Zane, and Maeve put on a performance...

Kids table for another birthday celebration with Ann, Mike, Gran, Pop, Phil, and the kids... Sorry grown-ups, I didn't manage a decent picture of you...

Can you say 'sugar high' for the whole weekend?!

It was May Days while we were visiting this weekend, and we had the privilege of seeing Kaya perform in "May Days Idol".  Awesome.

We went to the parade and enjoyed the festival... sometimes I really miss my hometown.

Maeve and Zane had a sleepover in a tent...  they were a wee bit excited.

Doc McStuffins was in the house...

The Australian gang sent over a plethora of musical instruments for the birthday girl... We tested them out on Taryn and her friend who were having a sleepover to see if they would effectively wake them up.  Yep it did.  Hey, all I know is that anything is better than when my dad &/or brother would barge in my room playing the bagpipes when I was a kid.

Happy Birthday sweet girl...  xoxo
