Christmas 2012...

We had the a great Christmas holiday.  At the end of the day, I managed 12 days off of work, and enjoyed every minute of it.  Our holidays were front loaded with lots of visits with friends and family up in the motherland, and we ended with several days of very little activity back at home.  It was perfect.  Here are some shots of our fun...

We primarily stayed with my brother and sister-in-law... and therefore, Maeve loved playing with her cousins, who were very good sports, I might add.

Maeve did a lot of running around and squealing...

Unfortunately, my brother was gone for almost every part of Christmas due to his flying schedule, so we did his Christmas early.  Maeve kindly helped him open his gifts...

Lynn and Dad...

First of many Christmas dinner celebrations...

We went to Jodie and Dirk's for their Christmas Eve celebrations, which included some present openings.  Maeve was happy to oblige.

Hanging the stockings getting ready for Santa's arrival...

The cousins... Maeve in her new Christmas jammies...

Santa came!!

One very happy Kate -- a new iPod Touch.

And one very happy Taryn -- a new SLR camera...

And one very happy Maeve -- a Merida doll, Rapunzel jammies, and lollipops...

I had to include this classic 3 1/2 year look...  Thankfully it was just a fleeting moment.  I can't quite remember what I did here ;-)

Thank goodness for videos and facetime as Todd was able to participate and witness Christmas morning from Toronto...

Everyone checking out their new toys (and lollipops)

Maeve quickly changed into her new Rapunzel jammies...

We headed back over to Jodie and Dirk's for breakfast and present opening...

Spa time... new application of nail polish

Maeve sporting her new gymnastic outfit and beautiful jewelry...

Inevitably, all the big kids want to play with the little kid's new toys...

Maeve, the beautifully decorated handy woman practicing her drilling skills...

Another highlight of our trip was staying with Ann, Mike, Kaya and Zane...  During our time with them we managed to hit the ice skating rink and let Maeve try ice skating for the first time.  It was fun, but teaching someone how to "skate" is somewhat challenging....

We made a day trip down to Bellingham to visit with CJ, Lance, Pax, and Beckett... which is always a fun time.  Thankfully, Superwoman and Batman were there to protect us...

We also took a field trip to visit Todd at the firehouse...

Maeve (sort of), Noah, and Pax put on a concert for us to watch that night...  it was beyond cute.

More costumes and concerts took place with Kaya and Zane a couple of days later...

This is obviously not a great photo -- but Maeve, Grandpa and I took the Santa Train in Stanley Park...

It was beautiful, and cold... I was thankful for my own personal heater sitting on my lap.

During our time in Vancouver we were also able to catch up with my stepbrother's family, which was so great.  Failed to bring my camera there :-(.  And, Mike and I were able to have at least two of our movie dates, which I always enjoy.  All and all a wonderful holiday and I know Maeve is already missing all the fun.  She has asked for another calendar with chocolate to open every day and wonders where all the gifts are.  She is also missing all her fun friends and cousins and asks daily when she gets to see them for sleepovers  ;-)

I hope everyone managed a happy and safe holiday.
