Ethiopian Christmas...

...is today. We are so fortunate to have a Ethiopian community in which to celebrate these holidays with. A fellow adoptive mom, Brenda, so kindly organized an Ethiopian dinner out at one of our local restaurants. It was crazy chaos, but a ton of fun. Maeve was so excited to go and was sad to leave. I love that. Its so nice that we are really truly feeling connected with so many other families... I sort of felt like I was going through the motions, hoping for great connections, for the first year and half... but now its completely authentic. Maeve is proud to be Ethiopian and ate her share of the food tonight, for sure.

Isa B and Maeve ready to get at it...

Katie and Isa B -- our first friends in our Ethiopian and adoption community.

Sela, Maeve, and Lucy ripping it up on the dance floor...

Eventually all the kids trickled over for a little mosh pit action...

And, this one here could not be more happy to be part of something fun...

A little 'Ring Around the Rosie'....

Happy Ethiopian Christmas everyone!!!

How lovely that you have such a supportive adoptive community! What a great connection for Maeve to her for her ancestry and roots. A friend that adopted from Russia 17 years ago still has get togethers with her adoptive community and the kids are now about to graduate high school! Love that you got a DSLR. Your pictures are great to begin with. I felt the same way about my camcorder being an investment for the future!
