I do enjoy flipping on the baby monitor when I know that Maeve has woken up, as she just starts babbling on about this, that, and the other. Today I realized that I probably don't have to worry about if she'll stick up for herself or not... Here is what I heard:

I need space
I big girl
Do not push Maeve's body
Stop it
Go away
No no no
Move away
I need space
Don't hit my body
Not do that
No push my back
You sit time out
Maeve a big girl
Out right now

Wowza. I guess daycare is good for her and allows her to work through conflict -- real, or imagined... but, I did think that I'd taught her to say 'please' at least.

Take home message -- don't mess with Maeve, apparently.

LOL! I LOVE this posting. This reminds me of spicy, clear, and with a good, strong sense of herself. Our kids need this kind of confidence in today's world. Hooray for Maeve!

Katie used to say "Stop bothering me around!" (instead of "bossing me around"), and one time, she said, "If you don't stop doing that, I'm going to splug you in the face and put cream on you." I have no idea where she got that last phrase, but those types of things are so funny that I wrote them down...and still smile at them. So glad you are keeping this journal. You and Maeve are going to love reading this together when she's older.
