The Weekend...

... in pictures (via iPhone. Hurry up and get fixed, camera... I miss you.)

But, I don't want to go to bed!

Catching up with Isa B at our Ethiopian Community Center...

The best seat in the house, apparently...

Underdog action... (hang on Maeve!)

I told Maeve we were going to bake again and she promptly went to find her oven mitts...

Maeve taking a moment...

I finally have a bit of a routine. I had been doing a bit of everything but never in a consistent manner. Here is our week...

Fri or Sat is our big hair day where we shampoo (I use Curly Q Cleansing Cream) and then I start the conditioning/detangling process. I may overkill it, but I usually use Honeysuckle Rose conditioner all over, and then I start parting the hair and add Carol's Daughter Tui Hair Smoothie. I finger detangle first and then I use a wide tooth comb and comb it all out via parts. I try and let all the conditioner sit for a while and then rinse out.

When we're out of the tub I put jojoba oil throughout her hair and then put Shea Moisture's Shea Butter leave-in conditioner. And then I add a little Carols Daughter's Hair Milk throughout.

Every morning I spray her hair with water/conditioner mix to spruce it up (I just mix the Aubrey's with water in a spray bottle), and sometimes use either Carol's Daughter's Tui Hair detangler spray or the Curly Q's detangler spray too. If I'm redoing pony tails or something quick, I'll add a bit more hair milk too.

Generally on Tuesdays we recondition the hair in the tub and do some finger detangling, but not the full blown deal.

I just bought the kinky curly detangler and liked that -- I used it as a conditioner in the tub so that I could detangle and comb Maeve's hair.

When I remember, I use coconut oil on Maeve's hair the night before shampoo and tues conditioning days...

I'm still practicing and sorting out the hair routine, but it became much better once I actually created a routine. Maeve sleeps with a satin cap too, which has helped a lot.

And, that's our routine....
