Sometimes...

...you just love what you love. Maeve loves the giraffe/cow from Auntie Chelsea.

So, Chelsea... this video is for you.

2 things -- good thing Grandpa has good reflexes, and good thing giraffe/cow would be a soft landing as backup plan.

Grandpa Visiting!

My Dad is here for a weekend visit... Maeve and Grandpa love each other. My Dad, true to form, asked what projects I had for him to help me with... I don't have a lot left, but we did tackle the garage once again. This time we hung my road bike from the ceiling, trying to maximize all available storage space...

Putting Dad to work...

Our supervisor...

The result of a missing stud finder... This picture kills me. I think it is so funny. I take full responsibility... (but, shhh... Dad doesn't know that I'm publishing this photo)...

Yay. Success...

Grandpa reading stories to Maeve...

Maeve super duper excited about the storyline...

Sometimes you just need to snuggle.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday Mom! Thank you for everything... You are an amazing support to Maeve and myself and we hope that you are having a fantastic birthday and enjoying the snowbird life, for at least a few more days. We can't wait to see you next week...

Wow. These pictures are from when Maeve just came home... She has grown up so much already...

Go Dawgs!

10 Months...

Peek-a-boo... I'm 10 months old today!

Maeve's personality is fully emerging and she literally makes me laugh out loud every day. I think she's going to be a funny little kid. Humor will serve her well in our house.

At this particular glimpse in time, Maeve is on the move and is 'sort of' considering mobility beyond just rolling, loves to eat and feed herself, continues to explore her vocal range, loves to raspberry and laugh at herself doing so, and likes the 'one sock on, one sock off' fashion, apparently....

She is so fun. I can hardly stand it.

Rough Life...

Nanny Annie spoiling Maeve with a new friend and a fun balloon today...

And, park time with Avery today too...

Its Difficult...

... to be Maeve. No one gives her any attention.

Fess Up...

I want to know... who taught this sweet lil' girl how to raspberry her food?

My Stomach Hurts..

Dan's, sort of annual, wine and dessert party was tonight. Every other year, or so, Dan throws his own birthday party and treats us all to his homemade desserts. He has a gift. And, I love that he shares his gift. I over indulged... no one is shocked by that statement. Check out the amazing spread... Yum. Happy Birthday Dan!!

I tried that, and that, and that...

And, then I tried this and that, and that...

Oh, and then there were these I tried too...

And, then I felt like this...

Rookie Mistake...

Despite absence of odor and indicatory grunting... one should always check diaper region for foreign objects before ripping off said diaper and immediately dunking child into tub... and, with every bath toy she owns already floating around. Awesome.

First Bike Ride Too...

Spring is here a couple of days early, and we couldn't be happier. Amy and I both purchased our bike seats recently and today seemed like the perfect day to get the kids out and play at the beach. Maeve wasn't such a huge fan of getting the helmet on, but we pushed passed that and it was a good time from there on out.

Me and Maeve...

Bennett and Amy...

Whaoo Hoo... Swings are so much fun!

Umm.. Mom, think you could push me?!

Maeve took a turn on the slide a few times but just loves to watch other kids play...

Fearless Bennett... head first down the slide...

Yay Yay Yay... I'm on the sand again!

This seems familiar...

Oh hey Bennett, what do you have there (note to self... perhaps I should pack the girl some snacks too. We've got you covered next time Bennett)..

I'd like a little snack with my sand, thanks...

First Trip to the Zoo...

Maeve was whisked away by Nanny Annie, plus Josie and Abe for a few hours today so that I could clean my house. Although, I did not have nearly as much fun as Maeve and her doting Nanny, it was so satisfying to run around and get everything spic and span and organized.

I love it when Annie is caring for Maeve because she gives me the play by plays complete with photos as to how Maeve is and what she's doing. Maeve told me she had a great time.

Josie, Maeve, and Abe... (Maeve's not pained... just a little sunshine in her eyes...)

The zoo is exhausting...

A Tea Party

It started out, oh so civilized... Maeve invited Giraffe and Lamby to a Tea Party...

And, then the host turned on them...

I think Giraffe and Lamby will think twice before accepting another Tea Party invite from Maeve in the near future....

And, Happy Birthday Katie!!

Celebration Dinner...

Happy Birthday Leann! It is definitely a birthday week. Amy yesterday. Leann today. Katie on Friday. We were able to celebrate two of the three last night with a fun dinner out... My vocal chords are strained slightly from all the amazing birthday songs I've sung thus far. My rendition to Amy was so good that Maeve was grooving to the beat. (She may be a little brainwashed... but, maybe not. Perhaps I am just that good).

Katie we've got you covered next week, but we drank of glass of wine to honor you too.

Also, Happy St. Patrick's Day.... I was the obnoxious mom that sent Maeve to daycare with 'all things green'... everything down to her onesie. Didn't want to chance that the sweet thing would get pinched!

One Happy Camper...

Also... Happy Birthday Amy!!

A Day with Avery...

Maeve and I got to spend the day with Avery... It was super fun for both of us -- but it was awesome to see Maeve so excited each time she woke up from her nap to realize that her friend was still here and ready to play.

Hey Hey...

Maeve trying to figure out why Avery doesn't eat everything put on her tray... especially her veggies. It would never cross Maeve's mind to leave anything behind!

There was a slight disagreement about who would run the ball popper...

Which resulted in the ball popper getting a time out... So sad.

Smitten...

I think Maeve has her great Auntie Doreen and Uncle Johnny wrapped around her little finger. We were so happy to have them come visit us for a couple of nights so that they could meet Maeve finally and we could catch up. Maeve was pulling out all her tricks and treated the newest members of her fan club to smiles, laughter, and much chatter. It was fun and relaxing...

Maeve reading Auntie Doreen her favorite story...

And, because she loves this story so much, she read it to Uncle Johnny too...

Fans of one another...

We were treated to a dinner out...

What a big girl, eating at the table...
